CalcyBill™ is a point-of-sale counter and a full set of books in one Windows application, running on a database that lives on your own machine. The internet is something it uses, never something it needs.
No card. No account. No data leaves the machine unless you switch the cloud on.

One installer for General retailGeneral retail — 61 trades in all
The whole stack
One counter, five layers deep.
Right now: Counter
Why it is built this way
Three decisions, and everything else follows from them.
Billing software fails in ways that are boring and expensive: the line goes down, the books disagree with the till, or the program only fits the shop it was written for. CalcyBill is arranged around not doing those three things.
The counter never waits for the internet
Invoice number, line items, payments, stock and ledger commit together to a database on the shop's own machine. A dead connection is a slow afternoon, not a closed shop.
The POS and the books are one program
Every bill lands in the day book, the cash book, the stock ledger and the GST return as it is rung up. Nothing is exported at month end, because nothing was ever in two places.
One installer, any trade
A chemist, a garment shop, a CCTV dealer and a restaurant install the same file. What makes it theirs is the trade they pick on the setup screen the first time they open it.
The actual screens
Not a mock-up. The program itself.
The till at the top of this page is a reconstruction. This is not: six frames captured out of the real program, one per step of one real sale, played back in order. Every step is a button, so any of them can be held and read.
Real screens · dark theme · a made-up shop
An empty counter. The search box is the scanner — a USB scanner types the code and presses Enter.
One program
Nothing is reconciled at month end, because nothing was ever in two places.
In most shops the till is one program and the books are another, and the gap between them is somebody's Sunday. Here a sale is a single transaction that writes to every ledger it touches.
Right now: Invoice number
All five commit in one transaction, or none of them do. A failed sale burns no invoice number and moves no stock.
What is inside
Six parts of a shop, and all six are in the box.
Nothing here is a module you buy later. The trial has every one of these switched on.
CalcyBill™ Cloud
The shop on the counter. The owner on a phone.
Cloud is an addition to the counter, never a dependency of it. A bill commits locally first and the upload happens afterwards, in the background, retried until it lands. Switch the cloud off entirely and the till does not notice.
Bills commit at the counter first
Combined sales, wherever you are
Every branch's takings, recent invoices and per-branch totals on one screen, installable on the phone. It keeps the last good snapshot when the signal drops.
Counters that stopped checking in
A till that has gone quiet shows on the dashboard before anyone rings to say the shop is shut.
Enrolled, not logged in
A counter is enrolled once with a one-time code. Its token is encrypted by Windows itself, and the server keeps only a hash of it.
Getting going
Anafternoon,notaproject.
There is no server to stand up, no database to create and nobody to send out. The shop that installs it is the shop that runs it.
Download and install
One file, about 100 MB. It installs for the current user — no admin rights, no server, no database to set up.
Answer the setup screen
Shop name, trade, a PIN if you want one, your logo and paper size. Three minutes.
Bring your items in
Type them, or import a CSV. The file is dry-run first and tells you exactly what it would change.
Bill
Thirty days free, everything unlocked. A licence key arrives by email when you buy one, and is entered once.
What it costs
Priced per shop, not per feature.
Every plan is the whole program. Buy it once and own it, or pay by the year — what changes between the three is how many tills the licence covers and whether the owner's phone is in it.
The first fifty shops
Every price below is the founding price. All 50 still open — it closes at fifty licences, not on a date.
A perpetual licence. The key carries no expiry date at all, so the software does not stop — not when a card fails, not when we are closed, not in ten years. Maintenance is separate and optional.

Straight answers
Questionspeopleactuallyask.
Entirely. The database is a file on the shop's own machine and a bill commits to it without waiting for a network. The cloud, if you use it, is a copy that catches up afterwards.
Nothing. The data lives in %APPDATA%\CalcyBill\, not in the program folder, so a new installer goes straight over the old one and every bill is still there.
Yes. Take a backup on the old machine, install CalcyBill on the new one, restore it. The restore is one transaction — it either replaces everything or changes nothing.
Not unless you switch the cloud on. With it off, nothing leaves the machine. With it on, completed sales and a catalogue snapshot go up — costs, staff PINs and other private local data are excluded by design.
CalcyBill prepares it: taxable value, CGST/SGST/IGST, a breakdown by rate, an HSN summary, and CSV for your accountant. E-invoice and e-way bill payloads are written for the portal's bulk upload. It does not file on your behalf — that needs IRP credentials, which do not belong baked into a till.
Counter is one till, Shop is three, Chain is unlimited. A till is a machine, not a person — staff are unlimited on every plan.
The first fifty shops pay less than the list price, on whichever plan and whichever way they buy, and their maintenance rate is held there for as long as they keep it. It closes at fifty licences rather than on a date. It is not a sale that comes back — the list price is what CalcyBill is worth, and the discount is what taking it on early is worth.
Yearly costs less to start and can be stopped. Buying once costs more up front and less from its fourth year, and after that the gap widens every year — that is the whole trade, and the chart on the pricing page draws it. A shop that expects to be trading in five years is usually better off owning it.
On a perpetual licence, nothing stops. The key has no expiry date in it, so the till carries on billing on the version you have — you simply stop receiving updates, priority support and the cloud. Pick it up again later and you pay the current year, not the years you missed.
No, and the first year is already in the licence price. It is worth having mainly for one reason: GST rules change, and a shop on a three-year-old build is filing against three-year-old rules.
Start with General retail, which is the plain counter. Tell us what your trade keeps that the list does not, and it goes into the next build — which every shop gets, not a special one built for you.
Lighthouse Ventures. CalcyBill is built and supported by us directly — the people who answer the phone wrote the code.
Thirty days. Nothing switched off.
Download it, put your own items in, bill a real day with it. Nothing is crippled in the trial and there is no card to enter — if it does not suit the shop, you have lost an evening.
