What Lighthouse Ventures does

Lighthouse Ventures builds CalcyBill™: point-of-sale, stock and full accounting for shops, sold as a single Windows application rather than a subscription to somebody else’s server. CalcyBill is point-of-sale and full accounting in a single Windows application. It bills, holds stock, keeps the ledgers and files GST from a database on the shop's own machine — so the counter never stops when the line goes down.

The people who write the code are the people who answer support requests and cut licence keys by hand. A fault reported on Monday can be a fault fixed by Wednesday, because nothing sits between the report and the fix.

Why one company, one product

CalcyBill™ is deliberately the only thing Lighthouse Ventures sells to shopkeepers. It is not a platform with add-ons, and it is not one product among many competing for the same support queue. That is a business decision as much as a technical one: a small company that tries to be everything to everyone ends up finishing nothing, and a shop that cannot bill is not a ticket that can wait for someone else’s roadmap.
